New Report Helps Small Businesses Bring Sustainability to All Aspects of Business

A new report by nonprofit Ceres aims to help small organizations bring sustainability to all aspects of their business in order to compete in today's business world.

The report, "The 21st Century Corporation: The Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability" gives advice on how businesses can incorporate sustainability into their structures, processes, and performance with the added help of case studies.

Many consumers trying to incorporate green IT practices make sustainable purchases. Although a large part of sustainability, consumers are less likely to look at what happens to purchases at the end of their life. Recycling hardware should be common sense, but many so-called recyclers are instead shipping e-waste to under-developed countries. As well, many consumers are unaware that IT equipment has value at the end of its life and asset recovery can be done before recycling. Initiatives are being put in place to help ensure products are being properly recycled. This article will expand on those programs that help to keep e-waste from the landfill.
