1. Can I upgrade to the Green IT Toolkit if I have already purchased the Green IT Guide?

2. Is the Green IT Guide exactly the same as the Guide included in the Green IT Toolkit?
The main content of the Guide is the same, however, the version that is included with the Toolkit includes additional information about the components of the Toolkit and how to use the workbooks during Phase 2 – The Assessment.
3. What information do I need to complete a Green IT Assessment on my own?
First and foremost, you will need a detailed inventory of your IT equipment. Next, you will need to complete the questionnaires provided in the Green IT Toolkit by interviewing staff members in IT, Facilities and Human Resources.
4. Do I need any equipment to conduct a Green IT Assessment?
It is very helpful to have an electronic energy meter (such as the Kill-a-Watt devices) to test a representative sample of your equipment.
5. How long does it take to do a Green IT Assessment?
For an organization with between 200 and 5,000 employees, you should budget for 3 – 5 days of effort. You will want to leave the electronic meters plugged and monitoring for a minimum of 7 days to get an accurate reading. We budget 3 weeks from start to finish.
6. Does the Toolkit include everything I need?
The Green IT Toolkit includes all of the information, resources, questionnaires and workbooks to capture the data and calculate metrics. As mentioned above, you may wish to purchase an energy meter. You can generally find these at a local hardware or home improvement store as well as on-line.
7. Do you provide support for the Green IT Toolkit?
If you have purchased the Premium Package, you are entitled to two hours of support for either technical support with the Toolkit or coaching through the assessment process. You can purchase on-line support on an hourly basis at any time. We offer this support regardless of whether or not you have purchased a product.
